Tonneau covers are among the best you can ever find in the market. As a result, most people try to fit them on other trucks. But can they fit on RAM?

Let’s find out together.

Will A Ford Tonneau Cover Fit A Ram

Your Answer! Ford Tonneau Cover Can Fit On RAM Depending on the Specific Model

There is no definite answer to this question. Because it depends, some models of Ford will fit on a RAM, and some will not.

But installing a Ford Tonneau Cover on a RAM cargo can be a little tricky because these covers are hinged. However, once you manage to install it, your truck bed will get the most effective performance.

If you want to get a Ford Tonneau Cover for your RAM cargo, always match the size of the truck bed and the size of the Tonneau cover. If the size of the two matches, you can seamlessly use it to your RAM cargo.

How to Install Ford Tonneau Cover in RAM

When you choose to use a Ford Tonneau cover on RAM, always follow the steps below to install it. It’s easy and you can do it on yourself.

Step 1: Measure the Size of your RAM Truck Bed

First, park your truck in a garage and note the truck bed size. To know the size of the truck bed, see the user manual where the size of the truck bed is specified.

You can use a measuring tape if you do not have the user manual. You must know the truck bed size because you’d need a Ford tonneau cover of the same size.

If you can’t measure the truck size alone, talk to an experienced mechanic to help you. Someone who has been installing the covers will tell you the right size to buy even without measuring your truck.

Step 2: Convert Measurements

When measured, note the truck bed size and convert inches to the desired unit. For example, if you want to convert from inches to feet, divide the length by 12.

Measure the width of the truck bed in the same way and then convert the unit similarly. To measure the height, place the measuring tape on the tailgate’s top surface and the other side on the bottom surface of the tailgate and convert the unit as well.

Step 3: Confirm If Your Cover is the Same Size as RAM Truck

Repeat the same process and measure the Ford tonneau cover after you have finished measuring the truck bed. Check if their sizes are the same. If the exact dimensions of the two are found, you can now begin the work of installing the tonneau cover.

It’s advisable to first measure the size of your truck bed before ordering the cover.

Step 4: Install the Roll-Up Rails

Now place the roll-up rails of the Tonneau cover on the right side of the truck bed and the other on the left side. Then attach the cover to the bulkhead and the front rail; attach the right end of the front rail to the right rail.

Step 5: Tighten Rail Screws

Once the rails are set in place, you tighten the screws using a screwdriver. And in the same way, the left end of the front rail should be attached to the left rail, and the screws should also be tightened.

Now it’s time to fasten the clamp brackets, attach the right and left rails tightly to the truck bed, and make sure they are firmly in place. Check it by turning it towards the tailgate to see if you have fixed it properly with the Ram 1500 bed.

Step 6: Install Bulkhead Seal

If you want to secure your front rail, clean the bulkhead with a damp cloth. Then seal a bulkhead on top of the bulkhead. When the seal is firmly placed on the bulkhead, remove the seal protector on the upper surface.

Step 7: Put the Cover on the Rails

If you have connected all its parts properly, now you can use the strap, pull the cover and see if it is working. If all goes well, then you’re done. You have succeeded in this task!

Step 8: Inspect Installation

After you have installed the cover, check whether the jib was done well. Ensure it’s opening and locking properly. You can pour water on top of the cover to check if there are any leaks.

And in case you discover any problem, remove the cover and repeat the whole process. That way, you will be sure that the cover will work perfectly.
